"Because Scouting will guide me to great things. It won't just teach me to navigate the woods with confidence; it'll give me the confidence to navigate the world."

Welcome to Girls Troop 7862 of Spicewood.
Founded in 2021, Troop 7862 is a Scouting America troop for girls ages 10–17 in the Lake Travis area of western Travis County. We meet most Sundays from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at Bee Creek United Methodist Church in Spicewood, TX. Visitors are always welcome—come see what we’re all about!
Our Mission
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Troop 7862 helps girls live this mission through:
- Character Development – Building honesty, integrity, responsibility, and respect for others.
-
Citizenship Training – Encouraging active participation in community, government, and service.
-
Personal Fitness – Promoting physical, mental, and emotional health.
-
Leadership Skills – Developing leaders through the patrol method—a system where Scouts are grouped into small patrols that plan, organize, and lead their own activities with guidance from elected youth leaders.
-
Outdoor Skills & Appreciation – Fostering self-reliance, confidence, and environmental stewardship through camping, hiking, and adventure.
-
Service to Others – Engaging in volunteer projects and community improvement (including future Eagle Scout projects).
-
Achievement Through Advancement – Motivating youth with a structured progression of ranks and merit badges.
How We Operate
Troop 7862 is a girl-led troop. That means the Scouts themselves make decisions, plan activities, and lead meetings, while adult leaders provide guidance and support. Every girl has the opportunity to step into leadership roles as she advances in rank, preparing her for greater responsibility on her path toward Eagle.
Our leadership team—made up of both youth and adults—meets monthly to plan troop programs, outings, and special events. Scouts are encouraged to challenge themselves, grow beyond their comfort zones, and practice leading from both the front and behind. Through repeated cycles of scout-led planning and execution—whether for a weekly meeting or a week-long adventure—girls gain confidence that they can accomplish almost anything. Advancement and achievement naturally follow, and several of our young leaders are just steps away from earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
